At the Arlington Center for the Arts, volunteers play an important role! You have the opportunity to get directly involved in the visual, literary or performing arts programs sponsored by the Arts Center. You may focus on specific areas, such as publicity, program development, or fundraising, assist with general office assistance serving members, or special events such as the annual Heart of the Arts Festival. You may make your own hours. Volunteers proficient in FileMaker Pro are particularly helpful!

Opportunities for volunteers currently include:

  • Office Support - Assist with mailings, correspondence, grants, etc. Computer experience (PCs) required.
  • Committees - As a committee member, help schedule and run ongoing Arts Center programs, such as Literary Readings, Theater Readings, Special Events, and Fundraising.
  • Gibbs Gallery - Assist with set up for gallery openings, publicity mailings for exhibits, and communication with artists. Gallery-sit during evening and/or weekend hours.
  • Literary/Theater Programs - Set up for evening programs, and assist with mailings.
  • Performances - Set up for evening programs, and assist with mailings.
  • Special Events - Help coordinate programs such as annual Heart of the Arts Festival held in May and Arlington Open Studios held in October.
  • Facilities - Assist with general maintenance, including refreshing the gallery, installing exhibits, and coordinating signage.
