Painting and Printmaking

Location @ AOS:

Arlington Town Hall (730 Mass Ave)

Cathy Garnett is a Boston area visual artist, primarily a painter and printmaker. She holds a diploma in studio art from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She was selected to be an artist in residence at Acadia National Park, Schoodic Point in late Spring of 2017.
Nature and landscape have been her constant inspiration. The abstract aspects of the landscape with its interrelationships of forms, lines, color, light and sense of place inspire her. Her work is evocative, expressing a memory of place, its structure, order and subtle complexity. She takes cues from nature as a subconscious response to what she sees.
She has shown her work at Three Stones Gallery in West Concord, at Gallery Twist in Lexington and FPAC Gallery in Boston most recently. Her work has won numerous awards including best in show for work at Three Stones Gallery. She is a member and maintains her studio at Shepherd & Maudsleigh Studio in West Newton.
