To our dear friend and long time Arlington Open Studio artist, we dedicate this Arlington Open Studios 2020 to Louise Musto-Choate
"Louise was a ceaseless advocate for CACHE, an arts organization in Medford, MA. She worked tirelessly to see an art center come together for Medford. Many of us have hope that her dream, someday, becomes a reality. I also owe her a great debt, as she introduced me to this wonderful Medford art group, CACHE.
We worked together for many years at the annual fall Arlington Open Studios event at the Arlington Center for the Arts. I knew her first as a jeweler and later as a painter. For years, I was not aware of her physical challenges, but did see her great capacity for kindness and compassion. Later as I did learn of her challenges, I marveled at how she faced them, fearless, head up, constantly looking forward. She refused to be pulled down, she continued to advocate for her passions.
Of course she had her down days, we all do, but how you come through those days, how you keep going, that is part of the journey we all face and what defines you as a person. What an example of fearless courage, perseverance and joy, that she is for us all, then, now and always.
Thank you Louise, for the love, joy, goodwill, courage and strength that you give to the world." - Pam Shanley, Arlington Open Studios Director
