Collage/Mixed Media
I am delighted to return to Arlington Open Studios as a studio artist for the third year in a row in 2024. Though I now live in Vermont, I love returning to Arlington and especially to this event, which is one of my favorite events in Arlington every year. I have loved participating in AOS as a musician, ACA board member and volunteer, studio artist and also simply as an art lover!
Since moving to Vermont in 2021, I’ve enjoyed working with acrylic paint and collage abstraction, playing with the whirl and swirl of colors and how it mimics the winds of change in my world. The simple beauty, whimsy and movement of the colors makes me happy!
I continue to love creating mixed-media pieces inspired by gardens, landscapes and flowers in New England. Vibrant colors and contrasts are a hallmark of my artistic style.
I consider ACA one of my many sources of artistic inspiration, including a life-changing class I took with Linda Dunn in 2019, and my long association with Adria Arch, who was one of the first people to tell me that I could be a visual artist.
I’ve also spent three decades making music with young children, recording four CDs and performing for family audiences, including at Arlington’s Robbins and Fox Libraries, as well as Open Studios. I hold an MFA in fiction writing and am working on a series of fantasy novels for young readers.
