My pleasure is in the challenge of watercolor; the chemistry of the pigments on paper; the effects that only come with water. I like going to uncomfortable places to push myself and grow my expertise. I delight when I discover something new. The process is a mixture of painting and waiting.

Recently I have been inspired by urban scenes. I am finding beauty in the tangle of parked bikes and in the glow of streetlights. I have a concentration of winter scenes because I continue to be fascinated with winter light.

As much as I�ve mastered, I am still a student of the arts. Continuing to take classes keeps me fresh while also hones fundamental skills and techniques. Carving out time to paint and time for classes is one of the best things I do for myself. Instead of adding to the chaos of my life, painting makes me whole.
