Arlington Center for the Arts welcomes new Executive Director, Mary-Liz Murray

Arlington Center for the Arts (ACA) is excited to announce Mary-Liz Murray (she/her) as its new Executive Director, beginning September 19. Murray was selected unanimously by the Board of Directors after an extensive search. "We are thrilled to welcome Mary-Liz Murray as ACA's next Executive Director,” say ACA Board Co-Chairs, Julie Brown Neu and Sarah Buyer. “Mary-Liz brings the strategic vision, belief in the necessity of the arts, and deep commitment to community that our next chapter calls for. We're confident she'll continue to deepen ACA’s impact across Arlington and beyond. We're excited to welcome her to the team and can't wait to see what she builds with our staff, artists, and community."

Mary-Liz joins ACA as an arts & culture leader with more than 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector. A Greater Boston native, her career has spanned professional and community theater, museums, public art, cultural landmarks, higher education, and other educational institutions. Her experience includes organizational strategy, fundraising, marketing and communications, staff leadership, and mentorship, with a focus on helping organizations grow audiences, revenue, and community connections. A lifelong theater maker, teaching artist, and producer, Mary-Liz believes deeply in the arts as a source of connection and belonging. At Arlington Center for the Arts, she is focused on building on nearly four decades of creativity while strengthening ACA for the future and expanding opportunities for people to create, connect, and participate in the arts.

“The arts have shaped both my life and my career, so the opportunity to lead an organization devoted to making creative experiences accessible and meaningful feels especially important to me. I’m eager to get to know even more of the ACA community, listen closely, and help build on everything that has made this organization such an important part of Arlington for nearly 40 years,” says Murray.
