Debbie Taylor-Smith has been experimenting with various mediums for more than 50 years…Watercolor, Pen and Ink, Mono-printing, Mosaic and Collage were among the early favorites. Today she prefers to focus on the “Functional Arts” of Fused Glass serving pieces; Flamework Beadmaking for her accessories and serving pieces. Her silk scarves use the Japanese techniques of Arashi Shibori and Suminagashi while her unique glass beads are coordinated with her scarves to give her total control over the overall color and format.
A resident of Arlington. Brick and Mortar store in Melrose “ Simply Sassy Designs”– where she shows and sells her art as well working with Corporate clients for awards and service and incentive programs.
Formerly, a 25 year resident of Winchester and owner of a Winchester business dedicated to seeing the arts survive. Co-founder of Arts in August, Member or the Winchester Cultural Council, Winchester Artists Network and Board of Directors member of the Winchester Friends of Art. Member of Arlington Center for the Arts.
